Ages: 5-8-Kids Yoga

Come be an Explorer! Kids yoga is a very fun-loving place for kids to come and breathe, move, laugh create and just be themselves.  Class includes crafts, breathing, yoga poses, group/partner work, meditation & community unity!

Sunday 1/26: TheMe: Finding Stillness

In winter, nature becomes quiet and still. It’s a great time to quiet the body and mind. We will use winter-themed yoga poses, our breath, meditation, song and story time to help us find the stillness within us. Ending class with a craft.

Sunday 2/16: Theme: LOVE

There are many different types of love and kindness that we can show. We use our heart to share happy and loving feelings with different people, including ourselves. This month of the year is a great time to celebrate all of the relationships we have in our lives with family, friends, and ourselves. Using heart-opening yoga poses and mindfulness, we can cultivate an awareness of love and appreciation.

Ages: 9-12-Tween Yoga

Come to connect! Tween Yoga is designed to bring yoga into the young hearts and minds of our youth. Class will be offered more from the perspective of getting to know each other with ice breakers and crafts, but with a huge focus on a mini yoga practice that includes postures, breathwork and meditation. Tween yoga is a mindful place for tweens to relate with one another and make friends in a safe community!

Sunday 2/16: Theme: Self LOve

Yoga is the ultimate practice of self-love. We take the time to journey inwards as we learn to love and care for our bodies, as well as developing compassionate awareness for what arises in our thoughts. Through a self-love practice, we can learn new things about ourselves.

Meet our Kids Yoga Teacher Kayla!

Working with children of all ages and all abilities has been an interest of mine since I was in high school where I dedicated my study hall time to working with children in the intensive classroom. Following high school, I received my undergraduate degree at Kent State University in Special Education, grades K-12 with mild to moderate disabilities. My first job landed me at North Royalton Elementary School as the 1st and 3rd grade special education co-teacher. The best part about my job was watching children reach beyond their goals and expectations when given the right tools that met their needs to succeed. I taught for 6 wonderful years at North Royalton, learning and growing alongside the students and teachers who came before me. In February 2020, we welcomed our first child and I decided that being home with him would be my next job. As I currently raise my two young children at home, I have found the value in slowing down, exploring nature, getting our hands dirty, and connecting with the beautiful world around us. Teaching Kids Yoga gives me the balance of what I enjoy at home with my own children and all of the wonderful skills I have learned as a teacher. We explore yoga through movement, crafts, stories, song, and guided breathwork in order to connect deeper to ourselves and the world around us.
“Seeing the world through the eyes of a child is the purest joy that anyone can experience.” -Constance Zimmer
