New to Yoga...
Arrive Early: 5-10 min before class is appropriate. This gives you enough time to get settled, lay out your mat...breathe. If you are late, take a few deep breaths before entering and please make your way in quietly and set up in the closest spot available. Please keep in mind if you are consistently arriving late to class, it shows a lack of respect for the practice and others...trust that you will feel more settled if you get to class on time.
Turn of electronics: Unless it’s for emergency purposes, UNPLUG. This is your time. Feel the peacefulness of not being interrupted or interrupting someone else's practice. You deserve this quiet time...let go!
Hands-on studio: We offer hands on adjustment to help create freedom and confidence in your body and in your practice. If this is uncomfortable for you, please let the instructor know.
Mats: We have mats for sale. Other props are stored neatly for easy access. Bring water and a towel as well.
Eating: Avoid eating heavy foods 2 hrs. before practice. A light snack is fine up to 30 min before class. Come well hydrated.
Clean up: Make sure to take all belongings post-practice. Placing props away neatly.
What is Namaste? At the end of class, the teacher will bow his/her head and say "Namaste" to the class. Feel free to respond back the same or a pleasant thank you is nice too. When we say Namaste in yoga it is honoring the divinity in you, so saying it back to the teacher is honoring that light in them.
