Arrive Early: 10-15min before class is appropriate. This gives you enough time to get settled, sign in, lay out your mat, get props...breathe. If you are late, take a few deep breaths before entering and please make your way in quietly and set up in the back of the room or closest spot available. Please keep in mind if you are consistently arriving late to class it shows a lack of respect for the practice and others...trust that you will feel more settled if you get to class on time.
Turn of electronics: Unless its for emergency purposes, UNPLUG. This is your time. Feel the peacefulness of not being interrupted or interrupting someone else's practice. Basically, anything that makes noise is a distraction and can keep yourself and others from being present. You deserve this quiet time...let go!
Hands-on studio: We offer hands on adjustment to help create freedom and confidence in your body and in your practice. If this is uncomfortable for you, please let the instructor know.
Mats: we have them and other props so no worries, but in the future for sanitary reasons you should purchase a mat. Bring water and a towel as well.
Eating: Avoid eating heavy foods 2 hrs. before practice. A light snack is fine up to 30 min before class. Come well hydrated.
Clean up: Make sure to take all belongings post-practice and wipe up around your mat. Place props neatly back where you found them.
What is Namaste? At the end of class a teacher will bow his/her head and say "Namaste" to the class. Feel free to respond back the same or a pleasant thank you is nice too. When we say Namaste in yoga it honoring the divinity in you, so saying it back to the teacher is honoring that light in them.
